China’s ambitious new carbon targets

Chinese President Xi Jinping announced new carbon-emission targets this week. In a video address to the United Nations yesterday, he announced a new long-term goal of reaching carbon neutrality before 2060, and hitting peak CO2 emissions before 2030. The old target promised peak emissions “around” that year. The World’s environment correspondent Carolyn Beeler has more on the news.
