Japan’s Parliament elected Yoshihide Suga as prime minister Wednesday, replacing long-serving leader Shinzō Abe with his right-hand man. Suga will be tasked with steering the country through rough waters — navigating the COVID-19 pandemic, a sluggish economy and his predecessor’s mission to restore some of Japan’s past glory.
