On Sunday, the US Food and Drug Administration gave the green light for the use of blood plasma in treating COVID-19 patients. This is an emergency authorization, fast-tracked, with research still ongoing. Plasma therapy now joins just a handful of experimental treatments that have gotten such approval for COVID-19.
