Born into a family of Scottish vaudevillians, Annie Ross died this week at the age of 89. She was the Ross in the jazz trio Lambert, Hendricks and Ross. Ross is perhaps best known for her composition "Twisted," later made famous again by Joni Mitchell. But as we hear from The World's Marco Werman, the line "they said as a child I appeared a little bit wild" is somewhat autobiographical.
