As the world continues to reel from the spread of the coronavirus, some experts are thinking about how to prevent future outbreaks — by studying how diseases like the coronavirus form in the first place. The United Nations Environment Programme has a new report about the ways environmental degradation relates to the formation of new disease outbreaks. The report recommends changing food systems, protecting habitats and fundamentally changing the human relationship to nature. The UN Environment Programme’s chief of wildlife Doreen Robinson speaks to The World’s host Carol Hills.
