Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) announced on Monday that international students in the US will be forced to head back to their home countries in cases where universities will not be holding in-person classes. On the other side of things, international students enrolled in US universities who are currently situated abroad won’t be able to come stateside. Noah Furlonge-Walker is an incoming Harvard University sophomore from Trinidad and Tobago. He is currently in Trinidad. It’s unclear if his visa and enrollment status will be OK if he studies remotely from Trinidad. At this point, he prefers that because he says he’s concerned about the coronavirus cases in the US. But everything is up in the air. Host Carol Hills speaks with Noah about some of these new developments.
