The Chinese Communist Party has never been wishy-washy about its view of Taiwan. And Beijing still sees the rebellious province as an integral part of the People’s Republic of China that will one days be reunified with the mainland. But the CCP just tweaked its longstanding policy toward Taiwan, dropping the qualification “peaceful” from its plans for the island. The World’s Patrick Winn reports.
