Oil prices are now plummeting after talks between OPEC and Russia broke down and prompted Saudi Arabia to launch a price war. Crude oil prices tumbled by almost a third. Such a price drop if sustained could destabilize national budgets around the world and threaten the US heartland. On top of that, Mohammed bin Salman has prompted the arrests of multiple members of the royal family, royals who may have been seen as threats to his rule.
