US health officials are now signalling that the spread of coronavirus appears inevitable in the United States. For Dr. Nahid Bhadelia, the responses to past global health emergencies carry important lessons for hospitals, as she and others now shift their focus to preparing for a potential arrival of COVID19 in the US. Bhadelia is medical director of the special pathogens unit at Boston Medical Center but also worked in New York City during the H1N1 influenza pandemic, and in West Africa during the 2014 ebola outbreak. She sits down with host Marco Werman, in studio, to discuss key issues for hospital preparedness during this time of uncertainty.
