Jackie Edwards was a Jamaican hitmaker from the '60s and '70s. Back in the day, Jamaican artists were as tuned into R&B stations on the US east coast as they were their own roots music. American singers, like Billy Stewart, who sang the original version of the tune "I Do Love You," were big influences on the Jamaican songbook. Marco Werman plays Jackie Edwards' cover of "I Do Love You" for this Feb. 14.
