As tensions escalate in the Middle East, you can be sure that, Russian President Vladimir Putin is paying close attention. On Tuesday, Putin made a rare trip to Damascus to meet with Syrian President Bashar al-Assad in Damascus. Today, Putin is in Turkey, meeting with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
