This weekend, officials reported that members of the Allied Democratic Forces, a rebel group, killed nearly two dozen people in the Democratic Republic of the Congo in the regional capital of Beni. The insecurity appears to be worsening: a local human rights group says that since October rebel groups have killed more than 150 people. It’s also complicating efforts to curb another deadly threat: the spread of Ebola.
