Chimpanzee sanctuary

The World

Orphaned and rescued chimpanzees have found refuge at a sanctuary in Nanyuki, central Kenya. The number of chimps in the wild is decreasing, partly due to the destruction of their central African forest habitat, hunting and disease. At Sweetwater’s Sanctuary, many of the 30 chimps have been injured from the illegal wildlife trade. The BBC’s Anthony Irungu reports from Kenya.
