It’s been almost three years since Serkan Gölge, a NASA scientist with US-Turkish dual citizenship, was arrested in Turkey after the failed coup attempt in 2016. He was one of the 110,000 researchers, academics, and scientists detained as part of a massive crackdown by the Turkish government. Authorities said he was working with the coup’s alleged leader, Fethullah Gülen, a man exiled from Turkey who is living in Pennsylvania.
