The vast majority of unaccompanied minors taken into custody at the US-Mexico border this year came from the same Central American country: Guatemala. Guatemala’s former Foreign Minister Fernando Carrera tells host Marco Werman that in the long run, a policy of family separation is unlikely to deter those Guatemalans intent on trying to unite with their relatives on US soil.
