Three German carmakers are under investigation into whether they colluded to restrict the development of cleaner emissions systems in their vehicles. BMW, Daimler and Volkswagen face allegations of conspiring to avoid competition in breach of European Union anti-trust laws and potentially denying consumers the chance to buy cleaner cars.
