If he can’t ban rap, he’ll try to control it

That’s what Russian President Vladimir Putin said at an arts and culture conference in St. Petersburg over the weekend. He says that if the three pillars of rap music are sex, drugs and protests, he’s especially worried about the drugs leading to the degradation of the country. His announcement follows the cancellations of concerts by authorities and the arrest of a popular Russian rap artist, Husky.
