Also, the Taliban have captured nine out of 10 districts of Afghanistan’s southern Helmand province

China announces ban on British politicians, organizations

Top of The World: China on Friday imposed sanctions on several UK members of Parliament and British organizations. And, Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed released a statement Friday suggesting Eritrea has agreed to withdraw troops from Ethiopia’s northern Tigray region. Also, China has released its official view of the COVID-19 origins before an official World Health Organization report.

WHO team rules out lab leak as origin of the coronavirus

Top of The World: A team from the WHO said Tuesday that it is extremely unlikely the coronavirus leaked from a Chinese lab and is more likely to have jumped from animals to humans.
