Yemen's capital is wracked by bombings targeting mosques

A day after Houthi forces failed to seize the airport and destroy the presidential palace in Yemen's second city, Aden, several suicide bombers brought violence to the Houthi-controlled Yemeni capital, Sanaa. Amidst the chaos, it is hard to know who orchestrated the attacks.


Western diplomats had 'no Plan B' for Yemen

The Americans, the British and the French closed their embassies in Yemen this week. Iona Craig, who lived in Yemen for years, says that while Western governments were concerned about safety, they were also showing their dissatisfaction with the Houthis, the group that overthrew Yemen's government.

A suicide bomb attack rocks Yemen yet again

Yemen is home to some of the most radical, and effective, affiliates of al-Qaeda. The US has worked with the new Yemeni government to use drones to attack militants. Still, the latest suicide bombing targeted a military hospital in the capital, and killed more than 50 soldiers and civilians.
