Alex Gallafent is one of the BBC journalists at The World, based in the Boston newsroom. He reports most of his stories from there, but The World has also sent him to report series from the Brazilian Amazon, Istanbul and Dubai.
As a producer, Alex's job is to guide news stories through the production process, from the search for an arresting angle and a compelling voice through to the final edit and audio mix.
Alex's radio career began a few years ago as a network trainee with BBC Radio in London. Before joining The World, Alex produced BBC7's The Big Toe Radio Show, for children; BBC Radio 4's arts show Front Row; Outlook, with the BBC World Service and the BBC's globe-spanning music show, Late Junction.
He's also worked as an actor and remains an occasional composer for theater - his scores have been heard recently in London's West End and at the Edinburgh International Festival.
