We start the show with three projects that have been chosen as the winners of Vodafone's Wireless Innovation Project. All three harness the power of wireless technologies in pursuit of social good. Then, an in-depth look at the UK's DNA database, and what America's plans are for a similar database. Also, we try to answer some of the great questions you sent in about the swine flu virus. And we end with another competition; Airbus wants to know if you can figure out how to use engineering to make flights cheaper.

He's suspected of trying to enter the compound of the pro-democracy leader, Aung San Suu Kyi. Anchor Marco Werman gets details from Tin Htar Swe, head of the BBC's Burmese service.

European aircraft manufacturer, Airbus, is sponsoring a design contest aimed at reducing the aviation industry's impact on the environment without reducing the bottom line. Outside of North America, Spain is the country most affected by the swine flu. Scientists there are trying to answer a fundamental question about the H1N1 virus: For each person infected, how many more are likely to become infected? Answering this question will help epidemiologists predict how far and how quickly the virus will spread. The World's Gerry Hadden reports.

Afghanistan has emerald, ruby, and sapphire deposits. Mining those deposits could generate an estimated 300 million dollars in income each year -- but only if the gems are mined properly. Anchor Marco Werman speaks with Gary Bowersox, an American 'gem hunter' who is training Afghans to mine and cut precious stones properly.
