In recent months, Sri Lanka's military has routed the Tamil Tiger rebels from much of the de facto state they controlled in the north of the South Asian country. Reporting the conflict hasn't been easy since most journalists and aid groups are barred from the area and the government has been cracking down on critical journalism.
