Protests in nine Chinese cities have called for a boycott of the French supermaket chain, Carrefour. That's because there was a false rumor going around the internet that Carrefour was supporting Tibetan independence. Many in China are also angry at France for allowing protestors to disrupt the Olympic torch relay in Paris earlier this month. The World's Mary Kay Magistad has more.

There's been a rise in attacks by the Taliban on Afghan army troops and NATO forces in Afghanistan. The BBC's Alastair Leithead was with British forces of the Parachute Regiment in Kandahar this weekend as they went in search of one of the most wanted Taliban bomb-makers in the area.

France is officially color-blind. It's against the law there to collect statistics on race, religion or ethnicity. But some critics say just because you don't ask questions, doesn't mean discrimination doesn't exist. They think collecting such statistics would help address some of the real imbalances in French society. Anita Elash reports from Paris.
