Anchor Marco Werman speaks with writer James Traub about French foreign minister Bernard Kouchner and France's relationship with the troubled African nation of Chad. Traub profiled Kouchner for last Sunday's New York Times Magazine.

The chaos in Chad has prevented European peacekeeping forces from deploying there. It's also raising more concerns about the long-delayed peacekeeping force for Darfur. The World's Jeb Sharp has more.

An outbreak of violence in the African country of Chad has put increasing strain on humanitarian efforts there. It's created a large number of internally displaced people. And Chad is already struggling to care for the hundreds of thousands of Sudanese refugees camped out within its borders. Anchor Marco Werman finds out more from Serge Male, head of the United Nations High Commission for Refugees in Chad.

Washington has touted the increased use of biofuels, such as ethanol, as a way to reduce carbon emissions. But a study published today suggesting boosting the use of biofuels also poses some environmental hazards. The World's Jason Margolis explains.
