The city is one of the ports of call for a floating university called the Scholar Ship. The Nobel Prize for literature was awarded today to British writer Doris Lessing. Lessing is the oldest writer ever to receive the prize. Anchor Lisa Mullins reports on Lessing's career and the writer's reaction to today's announcement.

The North-West Passage is an ocean route that connects the Atlantic with the Pacific...though it's never been travelled by boat. The arctic passage has been frozen solid...until now. For the first time since scientists have monitored the area, the passage is mostly clear of ice. The BBC's David Shukman reports from a Canadian Coast Guard ship in northern Canada.

Al Gore's environmental documentary, "An Inconvenient Truth," so impressed the British government that it's shown in British schools. But today a High Court judge in London ruled that the documentary contains unsubstantiated claims. The BBC's Roger Harrabin has the story.

Israelis and Palestinians both consider Jerusalem their city. Israeli politicians have long refused to even consider the possibility of the city being a divided capital for both groups. But now Israeli politicians are actually discussing what Palestinians have long demanded: splitting Jerusalem into two capitals. Matt Gutman has the story.
