Generations of Canada's native children were placed in residential schools. That meant they were away from their families, their native language and their culture. Many of them were abused. Now Canada's government wants to make amends. That involves a two-billion-dollar settlement with former students. The World's Andrea Crossan reports from a native community in British Columbia.

It's been a year since the military in Thailand overthrew the country's prime minister. Now as Thais get ready for new elections, many are worried that the country's military rulers are planning to keep a hand in politics in the long term. Aaron Goodman reports from Bangkok.

Another anti-Syrian politician was killed in Lebanon today. Antoine Ghanem was a member of the Lebanese Parliament. Washington is condemning the killing and Syria denies any involvement. Anchor Lisa Mullins gets more on the story from the BBC's Jim Muir in Beirut.
