India has a serious imbalance in its ratio of boys to girls. That's because boys are prized there. And many couples turn to abortion if they discover that their fetus is female. Now an Indian official has proposed requiring pregnant women to register with the government. They'd have to seek permission to get an abortion. Anchor Marco Werman speaks with Urvashi Bhuttalia. She writes about gender issues in India.

Women are under represented in Turkey's parliament. But a non-partisan organization wants to change that. The group has come up with a provocative ad campaign. It features prominent Turkish women wearing moustaches. The accompanying slogan asks, "Is a moustache necessary to get into parliament?" Dorian Jones has the story.
