The NATO-led security force in Afghanistan, ISAF, bombed a Taliban stronghold in Afghanistan today after its troops were attacked by insurgents. The ISAF said it's investigating reports of civilian deaths. Host Marco Werman gets the story from the BBC's Charles Haviland in Kabul.

In fact it begins by celebrating the slaughter of a pig, and chronicles the annual pig slaughter held in the French town where he grew up.

Today's answer is African country of Ghana, where an initiative to promote the use of bicycles has attracted thousands of used bikes donated from around the world. Now an inventor from California is there to try out an idea for a new kind of bike, one made from bamboo. The World's David Leveille reports.

Correspondent Jen Ross reports that the people in one part of southern Chile are feeling rattled. For the past six months, their region's been hit with dozens of tremors every day. All the shaking is taking a toll on residents. People are so stressed that the government has sent in psychologists to help them cope.

Anchor Lisa Mullins speaks with Aleksander Kudajczyk, a 28 year old immigrant from Poland who now lives in Scotland. Kudajczyk has a job as a janitor at Glasgow University. But he's also a classical pianist who is starting to become a local celebrity.
