Lebanon is deeply divided along political and sectarian lines. But the Lebanese appear to be united when it comes to one of the country's institutions, the Lebanese Army. Reporter Ben Gilbert reports on how the fighting in northern Lebanon has brought newfound appreciation for Lebanon's military.

The International Red Cross says the impact of violence on civilians in Afghanistan is worse now than it was a year ago. Red Cross officials say there are more roadside bombs and suicide bombings by Taliban and al Qaeda fighters. But the Red Cross also says US and NATO forces are not doing enough to protect civilians either, especially when it comes to aerial bombardments. The World's Matthew Bell reports.

China's Dong ethnic minority lives in the hilly southern province of Guizhou. There, they've nurtured a form of acapela singing that echoes the sounds of nature.
