The World's Jeb Sharp reports that Iran has apparently detained an Iranian-American scholar who had travelled to Tehran to visit her elderly mother. Haleh Esfandiari works at the Woodrow Wilson Center for Scholars in Washington. Iranian officials had refused to let her leave the country in December. Now her husband says Esfandiari is being held in prison.

Refugees from southern Sudan who were resettled in the United States in 2001 came to be known as the Lost Boys of Sudan. Many got support adjusting to life in cities across the country. But for the Lost Boys in Cleveland, that support came late. Reporter Dan Bobkoff of station WCPN has the story of how it took a tragedy to get the community at-large to take notice of the Lost Boys.
