Musicians in 1930s Cuba took African dance rhythms and created the rumba. Back in Africa, records from Cuba became all the rage. Now a veteran Congolese musician known as Papa Noel has traced that trans-Atlantic journey. The World's Marco Werman has the story.

Anchor Lisa Mullins speaks with journalist Asra Nomani, about Wall Street Journal reporter, Daniel Pearl. Pearl was kidnapped in Pakistan in early 2002 and later killed by his captors. Four men were convicted of his murder in July 2002. But Nomani says there's more to the story. She plans to lead an investigative journalism seminar this fall at Georgetown University to determine what really happened to Daniel Pearl.

For 20 years, the Ugandan government has been battling rebels in the north known as the Lord's Resistance Army. The LRA is notorious for abducting children and forcing them into its ranks. Correspondent Anna Sussman reports on a Ugandan radio station that some say has helped bring about peace talks.

China's top meteorologist had a warning for his country today. He warned that China will be hit by more weather problems in the coming year as a result of climate change. He predicted next year will be China's worst in a decade in terms of typhoons, floods and droughts. Anchor Lisa Mullins gets the details from The World's Mary Kay Magistad in Beijing.

Anchor Lisa Mullins speaks with the head of the non-governmental organization, Our Niger Delta, about the recent wave of attacks on Western oil facilities in Nigeria. Today, gunmen kidnapped four American oil workers there. It's the tenth such attack there in ten days.

East Timor held a presidential election yesterday, and the apparent winner is former Nobel Peace Prize winner, Jose Ramos Horta. Final results are expected tomorrow. The nation has been struggling since achieving independence from Indonesia five years ago.

The World's Matthew Bell reports that Tony Blair has made it official. The British Prime Minister announced today that he will step down on June 27th. His successor is expected to be Gordon Brown, the current Chancellor of the Exchequer.
