Today's Geo Quiz comes with a view of the Pacific Ocean. The place we're looking for is a Mexican state -- about halfway down the country's Pacific coast. The capital is called Morelia.
Franciscan monks from Spain came this way in the 16th century bringing along bibles and olive trees. Some old, twisted olive trees still stand in this state, in the little town of Tzintzuntzan. They caught the eye of musician Brian Amador on a recent trip:
“If you've never seen a really old olive tree, the form is really striking because it seems to have many many different trunks and very few branches, it's almost all trunk, but it conveys something that's been there forever, it seems so old and enduring, they're the oldest olive trees in the Americas.â€
