Icy waters and nearly 24 hours of daylight are two things you can count on in the part of the world we're headed for today.

We're looking for the name of an 800 mile long, mountainous peninsula.

It's a part of Antarctica --- that extends north of the Antarctic Circle.

That's the line of latitude at 66 degrees south of the equator.

Other than penguins, petrels, and other hardy seabirds, this area doesn't get too many visitors, at least not in a kayak:

"Hello on another blue sky day in Antarctica its hard to believe usually when its clear sky its accompanied by high winds we've got a calm couple of days including this morning which started with a couple of humpback whales swimming along beside us."
