We're out in the "middle of nowhere" for today's Geo Quiz.
That's how some people describe this rectangular land locked Canadian province. Actually this province's name comes from a river whose name in Cree means "swift flowing river".
It's capital is Regina. Most of the population lives in the southern half of the province. Where you can find small towns with names like Moose Jaw, Swift Current, and Maple Creek.
Its northern half reaches into the Canadian Shield, a region covered with dense forests and wide expanses of tundra. A former French paratrooper chose this province's wide open territory for a mission known as the Big Jump. It's an attempt to break the world record in free fall space diving.
We'll tell you more about the Big Jump in today's Geo Anaswer, but first take a crack at naming this Canadian province.
