We're heading into a scary labyrinth for our Geo Quiz today.

The place we're looking for is the Greek island that is home to the mythical "minotaur" . It's a major Mediterranean island that was once ruled by King Minos.

The minotaur was half-man and half-bull. King Minos had it locked away in a labyrinth, and legend has it that the beast feasted on human flesh!! But a Greek hero called Theseus sailed to the island from Athens, and killed the monster. Theseus had some local help -- and a ball of string which he used to find his way out of the labyrinth.

This island has seen other battles through its long history. The most recent was the world's first airborne invasion.

That was in 1941 -- when the Germans took it from Allied Forces.

So what Mediterranean island is it?
