Alex Ingrams was so enthused by the U.S. election he gave up his job, 3000 miles away in London, to volunteer with the Obama campaign in Virginia. Fred Galucci didn't have quite so far to travel: but he still relocated from Texas to Ohio to help the McCain campaign. The BBC's World News America program talked with them both.

Correspondent Laura Kuenssberg's report on Radio 4's Woman's Hour examines the issue of abortion. Speaking to various interest groups, Kuenssberg explores whether "value votes" will matter in an election race dominated by the global economic crisis.

As part of its election coverage, the BBC is sending a specially designed bus across the States, to cover the final weeks of presidential campaigning.

Traveling from Los Angeles to New York, the bus will cover over 4,000 kilometers and pass through 15 states.
