Today's Geo Quiz is something of fish tale.
It's neither a capital city nor a sovereign nation that we're looking for in today's quiz. It's a river in the foothills of the Canadian Rockies.
Right about now this river is jammed with bright red sockeye salmon. The fish are spawning by the millions in this river that flows about two hours north of Canada's border with Washington state.
The river flows right through the Roderick Haig Brown Provincial Park which is located east of Kamloops and west of Revelstoke. All along the riverbanks, people line up to watch the Sockeye Salmon that have swum upstream all the way from the Pacific.
The Salmon are able to migrate back to their home river, it's believed, by using the smell of the stream and the sun. So whether you follow your nose or follow the sun (or better yet check an atlas)...we want you to name this river that supports the largest Sockeye migration in British Columbia...
