Jessie Graham joined the staff of "The World" in 2006 after working for the show as a freelance correspondent from Iraq. Her assignments for "The World" have taken her to Sri Lanka, Guantanamo Bay and West Africa.
In 2005, Jessie created a training program for Iraqi radio journalists at the Institute for War and Peace Reporting in Iraq.
Before heading to Iraq, Jessie spent nearly ten years working as a print and radio journalist in her native New York. She was a staff reporter at WNYC Radio and at the New York Post.
She has contributed to National Public Radio programs including “Morning Edition,†“All Things Considered†and “Day to Day.†In 2003, Jessie reported from Uganda and Rwanda through a Pew Fellowship in International Journalism.
Jessie has a B.A. in English and African-American Studies from Wesleyan University and a master's degree in Journalism from the Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism.
