As a kid April Peavey loved reading the Sunday newspaper and taping cartoons on her portable cassette recorder. She was destined to be a radio journalist.
April received her Bachelors degree from Emerson College and hosted the popular Saturday morning program “Standing Room Only†on WERS. From there she moved to New York and worked in a variety of places including NBC, the Museum of Television and Radio, and the Metropolitan Opera House. After several years in NY, April then spent a year in London listening to jazz and making cappuccinos.
Her career in public radio began shortly after she returned to the states. April worked at WBUR for seven years, where she helped produce the daily newsmagazine program “Here and Now.†She also traveled to Cuba and worked on an hour long radio documentary.
April has a master's in theological studies. She currently resides in New Hampshire with three cats and two dogs. Her goal is to finish knitting a sweater for her partner.
