LISA MULLINS: The Taliban also continue to carry out attacks on neighboring Afghanistan. This week officials in Afghanistan are investigating an apparent poison gas attack on a girls' school north of Kabul. About 90 girls at the school became ill after complaining of a peculiar odor. Today, teachers at the school said that most of the students stayed home for fearing another attack. The Taliban are opposed to educating girls and have previously attacked schools. Coming up later on The World Iranian Noble Laureate Shirin Ebadi on how Tehran thinks. This is The World on PRI, Public Radio International.
