It was 50 years ago tonight that Buddy Holly chartered a plane for Fargo, North Dakota.
He and some fellow rock-'n'-rollers were starting the next leg of their tour.
The plane took off a few minutes after midnight.
But it ran into gusty winds and crashed.
The bodies of Buddy Holly, Ritchie Valens, and the Big Bopper were found near the wreckage.
Their legacy is being remembered today and tomorrow...and not just in the US.
From Vallvidrera, Spain, The World's Gerry Hadden tells us that they love Buddy in Europe, too.
