Celtic groups, Appalachian pickers, Portuguese fado singers...they're all connected to strong musical roots.
And then, there's an ensemble like Lo Cor de la Plana.
It's an a capella group from Marseille.
The members sing in the southern French language of Occitan..... a language that's more than a thousand years old.
But Lo Cor de la Plana leaves the door wide open to contemporary elements.
The group dropped by our studio recently and performed for us.
