Andalucian city

December 25, 2007 | permalink |

Our Geo Quiz today takes us to a city in Spain. This Andalucían city sits on the banks of the Guadalquivir River. It's more than 2000 years old. The Romans originally called it Hispalis.

The Moors took it over in the eighth century. They turned this city into an important center of Muslim Andalucía. The Spanish captured the city 500 years later.

Today, Islamic and Catholic iconography can be found side by side throughout the city. Here's a final clue, courtesy of Bugs Bunny...dubbed in Spanish.

Yes, el conejo del...well, that's where you come in.

If you can complete the title of that cartoon, you've solved today's Geo Quiz.

We'll let you know...
