For our Geo Quiz we wanted to know the capital of Tibet.
The answer is the ancient city of Lhasa.
For many Tibetan-American kids, Lhasa is only a distant dot on a map. But a week-long children's camp nestled in the Adirondacks in New York aims to introduce those kids to an authentic Tibetan experience.
Tsering Yangzom spent a few days at camp and sent us an audio postcard...beginning with the motor boat ride across Lake Chateaugay.

Tibetan Camp
The Tibetan camp takes place at Tanager Lodge which is nestled on the Upper Chateaugay Lake in New York's Adirondack Mountains. It's a one week camp for Tibetan children between the ages of 6-16. It's an opportunity to get away from the hectic city life - to experience the natural world and to learn about their Tibetan heritage. There's no electricity, no television, no cells phones. But there's plenty of hiking, rock climbing, kayaking, as well as Tibetan activities including archery, prayer flag printing, traditional song and dance, Tibetan history and story telling.
