Tina's first radio job was in a Classic Rock station's mailroom in Houston, Texas. She loved it so much she slept on the couch instead of dragging herself home for the few hours a day she wasn't bugging people in the studio. She has been in radio ever since. Tina worked for several commercial radio stations before making the jump to public radio. Most recently Tina was a Technical Director at WBUR in Boston.
At The World Tina mixes packages for the program as well as engineering the live show. She calls this "healthy stress".
Her knowledge of Russian got her around while living in Berlin where she ultimately learned more about the local art scene than the German language. In her down time Tina enjoys glassblowing and is constantly working on the perfect drinking glass and cereal bowl.
