Stephen Snyder performs a wide range of duties at The World. Working in our Boston newsroom, he provides radio station program directors and announcers around the country with daily information about the program, producing promotional and fundraising audio for air on local stations. He also produces program segments and occasionally directs the program.

Prior to joining the staff of The World, Snyder produced "Sound and Spirit," a weekly series combining music with thoughts on religion, philosophy and literature. Before coming to public broadcasting, he worked in commercial radio, producing the Peabody Award winning children's news weekly "Kid Company." In his spare time, Snyder composes and performs music.

"Radio is a wonderfully flexible medium," says Snyder. "Each day I enjoy the challenge of combining ideas, sound, and music in new and interesting ways."
