We're looking for a country in the southwestern Pacific Ocean. It occupies the eastern half of of the world's second largest island. It's a region that's prone to volcanoes, earthquakes and tidal waves. And it's one of the world's most linguistically diverse places, with more than 700 native languages, including pidgin.
Today there was a somber affair in the country's central province of East New Britain. Thousands of villagers took part in the ceremony of reconciliation. They lit candles and apologized for their ancestors' actions.
