Our Geo Quiz takes us up 1,680 feet. That's nearly one third of mile or more than five football fields in length. It's how tall the world's newest skyscraper is right now. And it's not even finished.
We wanted to know the name of structure that's now taller than any other building in the world.
The answer is the Burj Dubai (Dubai, United Arab Emirates) which is expected to be finished by the end of 2008. It's planned final height has been kept secret.

Listen to our interview with David Scott, chairman of the Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat.
Developers of the 1,680-foot skyscraper in progress claim that it has become the world's tallest building, surpassing Taiwan's Taipei 101 which has dominated the global skyline at 1,667 feet since 2004. But until the Burj Dubai is finished (2008) it isn't officially the tallest building. It's planned final height has been kept secret. Previous skyscraper record-holders include New York's Empire State Building at 1,250 feet, Shanghai's Jin Mao Building at 1,381 feet; Chicago's Sears Tower at 1,451 feet; and Malaysia's Petronas Towers at 1,483 feet.
