Rob looks after the daily management of The World, from fun things like production rotas to ensuring the show meets the editorial goals of its partners (the BBC, PRI and WGBH). Rob looks after TW's relations with the BBC and manages all BBC personnel in Boston and London. He ensures the show is making best use of BBC content and vice versa. A key role is to help develop the show's online and multimedia offers.
Rob has worked as editor, producer and reporter across a wide range of programmes. Everything from reporting ice-cream contests in Glasgow as a local radio reporter, to interviewing the last Governor in Hong Kong for the World Service, to filming drug addicts undercover for BBC current affairs show, 'Panorama'. In radio, he worked as news writer at the BBC World Service, and as producer and reporter on a range of World Service programmes like 'Newshour' and 'Outlook'.
In recent years, Rob has undertaken more managerial roles including BBC executive editor and editorial adviser.
Rob's lived in various parts of the world, including West Africa, and has a passion for travel. After college in the UK he won an ESU scholarship to the US on a Master's programme, and has loved America ever since.
Rob's ultimate objectives include meeting Donald Trump and/or making America a leading cricket-playing nation.
