Japan is offering a what seems like a good deal to the many South American guest workers there left unemployed in the wake of the global economic crisis...The Japanese government will fly them home. But there's a catch...the workers must promise to never come back. Reporter Akiko Fujita has the story.

The BBC's Ian Pannell reports on the challenges facing a newly arrived US troops in Afghanistan. Pannell went on patrol with a unit of the U.S. Army's 10th Mountain Division, part of the first installment of additional American forces being deployed to Afghanistan to counter rising violence by the Taliban.
